CSMS has so far published six books in the anthology series Mission. They are based on material from CSMS's various Experience Forums as well as interviews. The latest book was published in autumn 2023 and is called Mission Cooperation - The art of collaborating when it matters.
Mission Cooperation - The art of collaborating when it matters (2023)
An effective total defence relies on well-functioning cooperation between different actors. Today, the term cooperation is used as a magic word. In visions and regulations, cooperation is described both as a key to success and a solution to complex problems. But how does cooperation work in practice?
In the book, experienced actors from various parts of the total defence share their experiences of cooperation. Here are concrete examples where professionals describe how they faced difficult challenges, considerations and decisions within the framework of various forms of crisis management. Mission Cooperation - About the art of collaborating when it matters is based on a research project, “Experience Forum Cooperation” conducted at the Centre for Studies of Military and Society between 2019 and 2022.

Mission Abroad - military examples from international missions
The first Mission-book was published in 2007 and contains texts written by military personnel focusing on combat situations and challenges experienced in such places as Bosnia, Liberia, Cosovo, Georgia and Angola.
